Hi! 👋

I’m George, a Greek-Canadian from Toronto. I am the oldest of three, though most who know me often say I act like the youngest. I take this as a complement. I’ve always been a curious person and I love to explore, whether it be new countries or new ideas. I’m passionate about reading, running and boxing. Professionally, you could call me an entrepreneur. At the age of 10 I started my first three businesses; a lemonade stand, a door-to-door snow shovelling service and a garage sale. Most of the goods sold at the garage sale were my sibling’s toys, unbenounced to them.

I attended the University of Western Ontario (Western University) in the BMOS program, but would end up changing majors to Geography with an honours specialization in Urban Development. While the education was great, my social life was what gave me the most out of my university experience. I was a drummer who started dabbling in DJing in my freshman year and a couple friends of mine asked if I wanted to be the opening DJ for Avicii’s first North American show. I said yes and the rest, as they say, is history. I would go on to share the stage with the likes of Calvin Harris, Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Dada Life, Max Vangeli, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Chris Lake, Sander van Doorn, Felix Cartal, Thomas Gold and a handful others. I also frequently shared the stage with a guy name Joe DePace, who today you might know as Joe from Loud Luxury. He always had the passion and the talent for it and it clearly shows today!

Following graduation from university I went straight to work for the family business. Working along side my father, and the amazing team we have, taught me more than any textbook or lecture ever could. I spent most of my 20s working my way though the company into various roles, primarily on our operations team. Around my 27th birthday I decided to take a sabbatical. I spent 13 months backpacking through 41 countries. It was the best decision I ever made. It taught me a lot about who I am and what I want to do with my life. Following that trip I returned to working at the family business and launched a handful of new verticals within the company, including and office coffee company. We were growing fast and having a great time!

During the spring of 2020, when the world came to a standstill, I had some time on my hands so I decided to dive into another passion project. I’ve always found it puzzling that there is no social platform that gives you and instant, honest, and easy to interpret snapshot of public opinion. I figured I would take a stab at trying to solve this problem. I called up two of my best friends, asked if they wanted to join me, and off we went to build our objectively honest social voting platform. It’s been a wild ride and we’re not into 2022. If you want to find out more let’s connect over some coffee!

If you want to connect you can find me on Cast, the social app I co-founded.
